Agriculture begins the in-person stage of the 2026 National Industrial Forest Census
The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation, through the National Directorate of Industrial Forest Development, launched the in-person stage of the National Industrial Forest Census 2026, with the objective of expanding the coverage of the survey and obtaining updated information on the activity throughout the Argentine territory.
During this new phase, representatives of the provincial organizations, the National Directorate of Industrial Forestry Development, INTA and INTI will visit forestry-industrial establishments to complete the survey. According to the National Directorate of Industrial Forestry Development, the visits will be brief and will be aimed at collecting information that allows characterizing the current situation of the companies and establishments that make up the chain. The organization asked the companies to facilitate the access of census takers to the establishments and collaborate with the operation, considered a tool to update the information available about the sector. The digital modality continues to be enabled. The in-person stage does not replace the previously implemented mechanism. The digital modality will continue to be available during the development of the census, so that companies can complete the questionnaire remotely. Both alternatives will remain operational until the end of the survey, with the purpose of achieving the highest possible level of participation and coverage. The coexistence of the two modalities seeks to facilitate the incorporation of establishments that, for different reasons, cannot be reached immediately through in-person visits. For the private sector, participation becomes relevant because the information generated by the operation can contribute to making visible the productive characteristics and the different realities that forestry-industrial companies go through in the different regions of the country. Within this framework, the National Directorate of Forestry-Industrial Development specially called on the chambers and sectoral entities to promote participation in the operation among their associates. The organization highlighted that the collaboration of the companies will allow for a broader information base to know the situation of the forestry-industry on a national scale and have updated elements for the analysis and planning of the sector.
